about the site
Immigrant Connection - Greenville Multicultural Church opened in 2016 in response to the immediate need for immigration legal services of friends and neighbors. A strong job market as well as the growth of businesses and community organizations continue to attract newcomers to this city.
Site Director Matt Miller works with a bilingual and bicultural staff to welcome immigrants, and DOJ Legal Representative Ilsia Muñiz provides legal services in both English and Spanish. This site strives to provide a place of safety and support for immigrants as they navigate a complex immigration system. “This is a place where we show we love people and not just say it. We acknowledge immigrants’ struggles and frustrations and then let them know that we are going to help them. We figure out how a challenging system works so we can figure out how to make it work for people.”
In addition to immigration legal services, IC Greenville Multicultural provides citizenship classes, and the church also provides other community services like a biweekly food co-op and summer camp in partnership with other organizations.
